Hyperliquid launched manual borrowing on 18 September 2026, letting users pledge HYPE or Bitcoin as collateral for USDC or USDT stablecoins. Users borrowed $269 million on the first day, and the HYPE token climbed to a record high above $90.
Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, plans to offer U.S. clients onchain perpetual futures traded on the Hyperliquid blockchain. The service would run through Payward's Bitnomial exchange and NinjaTrader clearing unit, pending regulatory approval.
The U.S. Department of Justice charged two former Robinhood engineers with commodities fraud and wire fraud on 15 September 2026. Prosecutors allege the pair traded Hyperliquid perpetual futures using confidential data on upcoming Robinhood crypto listings.
