Cronos validators rolled back nearly two hours of blockchain history to recover $111.2 million after an Aug. 30 exploit of lending protocol Tectonic. About $9.19 million had already left the network and remains unrecovered.
The Cronos blockchain halted after an attacker exploited Tectonic, its largest lending protocol, in a scheme that onchain researchers estimate cost roughly $75 million. Crypto.com, which originally built Cronos, said its own app and exchange were not affected.
Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville Acquisition Corp mutually terminated plans for a publicly traded company to accumulate the CRO token. The firms cited prevailing market conditions and shifting priorities for ending the digital asset treasury venture.
